A Hospitalist Admitter

A Physician, Usually trained in Internal Medicine who admits patients to the Hospital. Admitologist are special in that they have a strong understanding of the overall healthcare system and how it functions.

Collaboration

Work closely with case managers in a collaborative way in assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the options for patients.

Consultation

Admitologists typically consult other specialized physicians and communicate with them developing an overall management plan for the patient.

Efficiency

Proficient and efficient in the admitting processes. They complete history taking, review of systems and complete physical exams, develop an assessment & plan justifying why a patient meets or doesn’t meet inpatient medical criteria.
